I attached an image of the setup I have a t home. ![]() I don't know if something is wrong on My OSX network settings, or maybe inside Kodi or maybe my Router settings. From what I've researched here NFS is to have a better connection in some cases. I just didn't try NFS because I don't know how to config it and also feels like the problem is something basic that I am overlooking. Windows 10 e pacchetti office già installati. Al computer è stato aggiunto un ssd che lo rende performante e ci si può lavorare tranquillamente. I tried to add a new video source using most options just to see if it works but still no Movies and TV Shows menu items appear on the Home menu. Vendo computer portatile toshiba con caratteristiche allegate in foto. On Kodi I can see my movie files only via videos/files as a list list but they don't appear on the home menu as a normal Movies and TV Show item that is how usually it appears if I add my files from a local drive. My Mac mini running Kodi can't add the Movies and TV shows located in my QNAP Multimedia share. Mac OSX can provide hardware video decoding for H.264 and MPEG2 video, though most CPUs are able to use software. I've searched on QNAP and Kodi forums for solutions and I couldn't find it, here is the issue: I mean, I have no problem with the fact that the player unpacks the audio into PCM but when any cheap Blu-ray player can throw those audio streams over its HDMI port to my AV-receiver, why not much more capable hardware like a 2018 mini.First, English is my second language so my apologies for any mistakes. This must be a limitation on Apple's part, but would that be a limitation of Apple's specific HDMI-hardware implementation, or is macOS the limiting factor here? Would I be able to go around that in some way, perhaps by using a USB-C to HDMI adapter? Or by using the mini's hardware but with a different OS? Some UNIX or linux variant presumably? Or different hardware all-together? These Softwares are available for every MAC model including Mac Mini. This all works pretty well, but I run into some limitation that I knew beforehand: MKV's with higher quality audio-streams (like TrueHD, DTS-HD MA etc.) will be unpacked by the client and sent as PCM over the mini's HDMI port (like Infuse did on the Apple TV). IPTV supports multiple devices and platforms such as Kodi, Windows, MAC, Android. Then I figured, I have a spare 2018 (mac) mini, so perhaps I could use that as a dedicated player with the reasonably capable Jellyfin Media Player application as a client for my Jellyfin-based server. I got disappointed with Infuse though, it performs its basic task of playing MKV's reasonably well, but it could be so much more improved (in my opinion) in terms of UI-design and how it interacts with Jellyfin, but the developer seems not to be listening so much to constructive criticism as will be clear when one browses their support forum, so I don't want to pay (it's subscription software) for that anymore. So I switched to having a real server (Jellyfin) and using Infuse as an Apple TV client. (Using iTunes.app as a "server" and the Computers.app on the ATV as a "client".)īut then I figured that using Handbrake to transcode my MKV files took a lot of time (and computer power), so why not using the MKV's directly, with better quality to boot as well, as in no extra lossy transcoding step necessary. The best mini PC for Kodi should be compact, cheap and still powerful enough to perform basic tasks. ![]() I archived them into MKV files (using MakeMKV), then used Handbrake to convert from MKV to mp4 because that seemed the only way to use an Apple TV as a client. As many people did and still do, over the last couple of years I ripped all my DVD's and Blu-ray's for more convenience. The app works with Rosetta 2, however you might run into issues. I'm not sure this warrants its own thread or is the right forum, but here goes.įirst some background. Powerful media center tool for Mac or Apple TV (was XBMC).
